Ingersoll eliminated in semifinals of three-point competition
Written by Zach Davis | | zdavis@toledofreepress.comToledo’s Courtney Ingersoll advanced to the semifinals before being eliminated in the State Farm Women’s Three-Point Championship on March 29 in New Orleans.
Ingersoll moved to the second round of the competition after finishing with 15 points, tying her with two others in the opening round. She struggled early in the round but scored nine of a possible 12 points on the final two racks to get 15 and advance.
In the second round, however, Ingersoll’s early struggles put her in too large of a hole. The senior guard out of Massillon missed her first 13 shots and finished fourth in the semifinals with eight points.
USC’s Ashley Corral won the contest, scoring 20 points in both the opening and final rounds for the victory.
