SCHAR: Blue Shield Alliance (Brain Shape Games)
SCHAR: Blue Shield Alliance is an X-Box Arcade downloadable indie video game that harkens back to old-school ship shoot-em-ups. Players battle with twin stick controls (one for movement and one for shooting) and choose ships from four upgradable spaceship types then dock with your orbiting base to receive orders. Players escort cargo ships and defend bases from the oncoming onslaught of attacking ships by shooting them down, then collecting salvage and delivering it back to the base. Sounds pretty simple, but gets challenging as the levels progress. Players can quickly get overwhelmed and destroyed, so the medium to high challenge level create exciting challenges. This game allows for up to four players in the multiplayer mode and cooperative mode. SCHAR: Blue Shield Alliance is a great game for short term, shooter fun that is full of survival challenges (***).
