Perrysburg Police Chief Daniel O. Paez has issued a media release concerning the recent arrest of Rossford Exempted Village Schools District Glenwood School Principal William Buzzell.
The release stated, that on March 1, 2011 at approximately 0615 hours the Perrysburg Police Division, with the assistance of the FBI (Toledo Resident Agency), and the Toledo Police Computer Crime Unit, conducted a search of 28190 White Road. From the search of the residence property was recovered, and an arrest was eventually made of William Buzzell.
Continuing from the initial search warrant information led the investigative team to Buzzell’s office at Glenwood School 8950 Avenue Road, Rossford, Ohio where they stated additional evidence was recovered.
Buzzell was charged with three counts of Pandering Sexual Oriented Material Involving a Minor. All three counts are a felony of the 2nd degree. Buzzell is being held at the Wood County Jail and his bond set at $90,000.
Rossford Exempted Village Schools Superintendent Susan Lang was contacted by Toledo Free Press, she was not available for comment.
According to information on the Rossford school website, Buzzell received a BA in Education and a BS in Psychology from Marietta College and a MA in Educational Administration from John Carroll University. Buzzell is listed as being married and the father of three children.
The Rossford School Board had already called a special meeting for March 1 at 5:30 p.m. for a separate matter. It’s expected Buzzell’s arrest will be discussed during executive session.
Toledo Free Press media partner, FOX Toledo, reported March 1 that Buzzell was suspended indefinitely by Exempted Village Schools and was put on paid administrative leave.
Parents were made aware of Buzzell’s charges in a letter distributed by the school district.
Superintendent Susan Lang said during the special meeting Tuesday evening she was “disheartened” by the accusations.
