OSU fan wins $100,000 and trip to Sugar BowlWritten by Danielle Stanton | | firstname.lastname@example.org
Adam Zobler is a very happy and excited OSU fan this holiday season.
The business analyst from Toledo is the winner of the 2014 Allstate It’s Good Sweepstakes.
“[Zobler] was randomly selected from hundreds of thousands of entries to be a part of history,” said Pam Hollander, vice president of marketing for Allstate.
The prize: a trip with three friends to the OSU vs. Alabama Crimson Tide game at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on Jan. 1; a trip to see the College Football National Championship game in Arlington, Texas; and the icing on the cake — $100,000.
“When I first got the call I thought it was a prank,” Zobler said Dec. 18. “Once I confirmed it was real, I was in complete shock. It is such an amazing opportunity. I called my family to share the news.”
His family is “estactic,” he said, after he explained the sweepstakes to them. He plans to bring his good friend and his brothers-in-law to New Orleans.
Zobler entered the sweepstakes at a Toledo vs. Bowling Green game where he was there with a good friend. Allstate had set up a booth. As a current Allstate customer, Zobler gave his information, got a free T-shirt and now he is “really happy.”
Zobler is a die-hard OSU fan.
“I’ve been down to Columbus a few times to watch some of the games, I watch the team play on TV and I always have hats and apparel and Ohio State gear,” he said. “Obviously we’re from Toledo, so we have the Ohio/Michigan stuff; I’m always shooting for the buckeyes.”
He’s never been to New Orleans before, he said, so he’s going to enjoy visiting the city.
“It’s definitely a once-in-lifetime opportunity,” Zobler said. “It’s going to be a great experience. I’m looking forward to it. It would be fantastic (if OSU won the Sugar Bowl). It would make the experience that much better.”
