Local Joint Utility and Social Services Committee hosts assistance information fair
Written by Kristen Criswell | | krapin@toledofreepress.comThe Northwest Ohio Joint Utility and Social Services Committee (JUSSC) will host an assistance information fair Nov. 16.
Individuals can receive information on utility bills, housing, real estate taxes, foreclosure prevention, weatherization, legal aid, medical and rental assistance among others. Representatives from area organizations will be on hand to answer any questions.
Participating agencies include city of Toledo, Columbia Gas of Ohio, First Energy, Job and Family Services, Lucas Metropolitan Housing Agency, Neighborhood Housing Services, Ohio Consumers Counsel, Salvation Army the Social Security office and more.
Those seeking assistance may be asked to show a picture ID for all adults in the household,
-Social Security cards and birth certificates for all members of the household as well as proof of income for the past 13 weeks and current electric or gas bill.
The fair takes place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the South Toledo Branch Library, 1736 Broadway. JUSSC will host its final event Dec. 1 at the East Toledo Family Center, 1020 Varland Ave. from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
All events are free and open to the public.
