Editor’s Note: This event has been rescheduled for this fall with an exact date to be determined.
Holocaust survivor Paula Marks-Bolten of Michigan will be giving a talk about her experiences in the Holocaust at Lake High School auditorium 9 a.m. May 9. The event is free and open to the public.
Last year, a group of advanced English students listened to Marks-Bolten’s story during the Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony in Toledo.
“Paula discussed what it was like during the Holocaust and her incredible journey of survival, love, forgiveness and tolerance,” said a press release.
The students were inspired by Marks-Bolten’s speech and started a fundraiser to donate to The Ruth Fajerman Markowicz Holocaust Resource Center of Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo. The center provides information, materials, workshops, speakers and scholarships to teachers, students and the general public, said the release.
