Popular TV show seeks contestants at Perrysburg stop

Attention trivia fanatics: Producers from “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” will host auditions at the Hilton Garden Inn in Perrysburg Wednesday.

The television show’s staff will administer 30-question multiple choice tests from 7 to 10 a.m. and again from 5 to 7 p.m. Contestants who pass the tests will be called back for an interview with one of the producers. A successful interview will land a contestant in the pool from which television show guests are chosen.

The show typically goes through 300 to 350 contestants, said Trisha Miller, publicist of the show.

You must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. resident and pass other eligibility rules found at www.millionairetv.com. Auditioners must bring a photo identification to prove age and residency.

Wednesday’s visit is one of six stops that the “Millionaire” producers will make for the new season starting Sept. 3. Miller said the show always hosts auditions in Manhattan but the producers travel to at least six other cities each season so people who are unable to travel to New York also have the opportunity to participate in the show.

The Hilton Garden Inn is located at Levis Commons, 6165 Levis Commons Blvd.

Toledo Free Press will cover the morning auditions and also post live Twitter comments.
