CCS provides winter clothing to children in needWritten by Staff Reports | | email@example.com
The Christ Child Society of Toledo is distributing brand new winter outerwear to children in need.
The items will be given out from 9:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 10 and 17 at the Mercy Professional Building, 2238 Jefferson Ave. The Clothe-A-Child program is also supported by The Andersons.
A winter jacket, cap and mittens are selected and matched to each child on site, according to a news release. The society works with agencies, social workers and schools to provide referrals/vouchers to those who need the items.
The society started the drive in 1999 after members learned that children’s clothing needs were not being met through other local programs, according to the release.
The Christ Child Society is a national organization that serves children in need. The Toledo chapter started in 1990 and last year, members volunteered more than 12,000 hours to the community.
