Medical Mutual of Ohio plans to recognize the area’s extraordinary senior volunteers in May.

Organizations, such as hospitals, nonprofit groups, churches or schools, may nominate one outstanding volunteer by the March 10 deadline. The health insurance company will then host an award banquet on May 1 at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Toledo.

The nominees must be 65 or older and engaged in volunteering for at least one year.

Four top winners will receive plaques and be entered in the running for top honors at the statewide awards luncheon in Cleveland. The organizations that nominated the top four winners will receive either $500 for first place or $250 for the other three slots, which are gold, silver and bronze.
