‘Red, White & You’ contest can send you to Put-in-Bay for the dayWritten by Staff Reports | | firstname.lastname@example.org
The heart of the Toledo Free Press-produced CD “Red, White & You,” which benefits the American Red Cross of Northwest Ohio, is the “Put-in-Bay Trilogy.” Those three songs — “Put-in-Bay” by Pat Dailey, “Who Needs Margaritaville (We Got Put-in-Bay)” by Mike “Mad Dog” Adams and “Another Put-in-Bay Summer” by Eddie Boggs — evoke the fun and island atmosphere of Put-in-Bay, and a new contest can put you right in the action.
A generous donation by A Company Called Brady is providing four round-trip passes on the Jet Express from Port Clinton and $100 in 2013 Boardwalk Bucks good at 17 Put-in-Bay businesses, including Hooligans Irish Pub, North Coast Para Sailing, Middle Bass Ferry, The Boardwalk and The Keys.
“The Put-in-Bay songs have been among the most popular on the CD, and we want the spirit of summer to last as long as possible with this contest,” said Amanda Aldrich, communications specialist at American Red Cross of Northwest Ohio
CDs are $10 for the 23 tracks featuring all local musicians, available at area Big Boy, Ralphies and KeyBank locations and Hollywood Casino Toledo. The sponsors for the summer CD are Frisch’s Big Boy, Ralphie’s, KeyBank and A.A. Boos & Sons. Media partners are WTOL 11, FOX Toledo and WSPD. The CD comes with a $4 Frisch’s Big Boy/Ralphie’s coupon.
