Village Players to host auditionsWritten by Staff Reports | | email@example.com
The Village Players, 2740 Upton Ave., will host additional auditions from 3-5 p.m. July 21 for its September production of Neil Simon’s “Last of the Red Hot Lovers.
“We had some wonderfully talented individuals audition this week, but our director is still looking for the right combination of chemistry for this Simon classic,” stated an email.
The play, set to be staged Sept. 6-21, centers on middle-aged, married, overworked, overweight Barney Cashman, who arranges three seductions with a goal to join the sexual revolution before it’s too late. The first, Elaine Navazio, proves to be a foul-mouthed bundle of neuroses; Bobbi Michele, a 20-ish actress, is too kooky by half; and finally comes, Jeanette Fisher, a gloomy, depressed housewife who happens to be married to Barney’s best friend.
Auditions are cold-reads. Scripts may be available through local libraries.
