Nine area McDonald’s managers, including one who has worked at two stores in Toledo, have received the restaurant chain’s Outstanding Restaurant Managers Award.
Collette Wattley, who has worked at the Laskey Road McDonald’s for two years, received the award for her management of the store at Monroe Street and Detroit Avenue, according to Melissa Carney, spokesperson for Falghren Mortine, the public relations firm representing McDonald’s.
Chuck Jones, operations director for JCILH Inc., the franchisee running all the Toledo McDonald’s stores, said Wattley’s work in increasing sales, “people practices” and quality assurance was “a good job in deserving this award.”
He said Wattley has worked with local McDonald’s restuarants for about 14 years.
According to Carney, the Outstanding Manager Award is “ given to managers that have exhibited superior results in selected areas of performance, including quality, service, sales, cleanliness and operational excellence. The award recognizes up to 10 percent of top restaurant managers across the United States.”
Other winners in the Greater Toledo area include: Stephen Ball, manager at the East Wooster Street McDonald’s in Bowling Green; Rebecca Haines, manager at the Archbold McDonald’s; Kraig Minch, manager at the West State Street McDonald’s in Fremont; Tony Sheppard, manager at the Conant Street McDonald’s in Maumee; Susan Vincent, manager at the Woodville McDonald’s; Tammy Franz, manager of the East Wyandot Avenue McDonald’s in Upper Sandusky; Joy Blanton, manager of the Woodville Road McDonald’s in Northwood and Tim Winkles, manager at the Alexis Road McDonald’s in Sylvania.
“Our managers face the daily challenges of satisfying our customers, staffing our restaurants with competent teams and running great restaurants,” said Tim Sloan, president of the McDonald’s of Greater Toledo Co-Op, in a news release. “ We are proud of these individuals for their outstanding performance and attentiveness to the greater Toledo community.”
