The city of Toledo needs to be challenged on their beliefs so they can figure out what the hell they stand for and build some principals. The reason people become libertarian is because it does not have a contradicting set of principals like your traditional republican of democrat. Brian helped to show that. People need to learn how to have a set of principals that guide them on their political opinions not just going by what Sean Hannity says.

I also agree that his libertarian rant was not only disquieting but not factual. Mostly his opinion of all Republicans being the same as Democrats was misleading and not true. But also his speech pattern was hard to listen to as well as his name dropping of all the famous people he knew. I couldn’t listen to him right before or after the election.

Seemed intelligent and his Libertarian views were interesting but I couldn’t get passed his use of “uh” 100 times in a five minute period….(it’s a three hour show)….very irritating…

I think this is hilarious! Agree with others who now think that Fred’s time has come. Condescending, arrogant the both of them. Here’s an idea–I know that Clear Channel preaches to the conservatives but how about bringing on someone who is more middle-of-the-road that could possibly expand the listening base to people other than libertarians or neo-cons? As an avid Democrat, I would listen occasionally just for the sheer idiocy of the comments from the DJ’s and callers. Also, don’t replace him with that simpering Maggie Thurber–she reminds me of a little teenager all giggly and bubbly.

I wish they would bring back the guy who did mornings before Fred (Bob??). Although I like Fred, so maybe he can go back to afternoons.
Except for the syndicated shows like Rush and Glenn, I wish WSPD would stick to local news. Also, brining back Michael Savage at night would be nice, too.

What a loss. Brian, through his unparalleled wit and his sometimes abrasive persistence in promoting libertarianism, really opened my mind to the meaning of liberty and freedom. If the reason he is gone has anything to do with his vehement criticism of the political class, locally or otherwise, then whoever was responsible should be ashamed. Good luck finding a comparable replacement.

Wilson is a wordsmith, no doubt about that. But his outward disdain for most others became a turnoff. Although his take on local politics and government was spot-on, the daily rant got old as did the constant libertarian harang. Bring back Denny.

Good bye to bright light that landed in Toledo for 7 years. He ruffled the establishment for those years and they needed it. Toledo has lost too many jobs, major employers, and all things economic for over 40 years. How sad. He will be missed

Thank you Clear Channel! Finally! WSPD hasn’t had a good afternoon guy since Sloan left town. I once e-mailed Mr. Wilson concerning a question I had about one of his on-air comments, and although I was reasonably polite, the response I received was condescending, angry and arrogant, and filled with profanities and name-calling. I hope to be able to listen to the afternoon drive again soon, and maybe I won’t have to go to WJR on the weekends to hear something interesting either (although I do like Kim Komando).

Brain I will miss you very much, the sheeple in Toledo, didn’t understand your wit. Your guest list was 2nd to none, and you gave the brain dead toledo listeners a chance at hearing something other that decepticon talking points heard by the other talk show mafia! Yes, Brian people under the age of 40 admired you for your brilliance, you will be sorely missed, and i will not be listening to WSPD anymore. Toledo once again proves to be the dingbat capital of the midwest! When people are devoid of any critical thinking because they haven’t read any books that aren’t recommended or written by the talk show host gestapo, you can’t win! Good luck in the future and you will be missed!

Thank God. I s topped listening to Toledo radio thanks to this guy. Now if only his sidekick engineer turned lousy morning talk host will join him.
