URGENT OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY FOR NYC AND HURRICANE SANDY ~ WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

“As most of you know Hurricane Sandy has left much destruction and ruins on NYC and beyond. My heart has been breaking. Today, I received the following text from my friend, Erika, pastor’s wife of Time Square Church in NYC, “Joni, there are people fighting over food eating out of the garbage in New York City.” My heart has been breaking as I have been watching the news. I have been praying and praying and asking for God to reveal to me what he would have me do and I believe he spoke clearly in this text today. Erika and I text back and forth and I asked her if we could get into NYC because we would be willing to fill a truck and bring it to them. Her response to me “If you’re willing, God is able”. Amen to that. We spoke some more about the logistics before we moved forward and then we contacted our local media. We are stepping out in faith and believing that this is God’s plan and he will provide. So with that said WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!! We need a truck, monetary donations to get there (gas). We have been informed that we will need to fill up one last time before we leave Pennsylvania due to the gas shortage.
Tomorrow we will be filling a truck (that I am certain God will provide) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Sylvania Area Family Services, 5440 Marshall Drive, Sylvania, OH 43560. Please don’t discount the smallness of any donation, they all matter. Jesus performed a miracle with 5 loaves and 2 fishes and he can do the same with ourdonations.
The most urgent needs per Time Square Church in NYC are below:
Food (all types)
Water
Diapers/wipes
Trash bags
Candles
Flashlights
Batteries
Blankets and coats (new or gently used – please make sure they are clean if they are used)
For all of you that are not local and would still like to help, I have created a chipin fund so you can make donations via paypal. Our goal is to raise $10K. I don’t think that is too much to ask for. 100% of donations will be given to Time Square Church. They are a huge church that does mighty things all for the Glory of God.Please make you monetary donations HERE!!
Again, I will say this is such a great way for us to be hands and feet of Jesus. We can bring hope to the hurting. Please prayfully consider donating and more importantly please pray for God to be glorified and for others to feel his love through us!!”
