UPDATE: Toledo’s CIT second round matchup changed, to host Robert MorrisWritten by Zach Davis | | firstname.lastname@example.org
After originally being announced that Toledo would play at Oakland in the second round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament, the Rockets will instead remain home to play Robert Morris at 2 p.m. March 17.
Toledo topped McNeese State in the first round of the CIT. The team has won eight of their last 10 games and improved to 19-16 this season. They have the second-largest win increase by any team in the country from last season, posting 4-28 records the last two years.
Standing in the way of UT’s trip to the third round, however, will be Robert Morris. The Colonials (25-10) feature First-Team All-Northeast Conference junior Velton Jones, who leads the team with 16.3 points and 4.4 assists per contest.
The quarterfinals are scheduled to take place March 19-21, semifinals on March 22-24 and the championship on March 28.
