The Rockets (4-9) offense recorded just one run on seven hits against OSU (8-4). Freshman third baseman Anthony Smith had a pair of hits in his two at bats while junior left fielder Tyler Grogg drove home the lone run in the seventh inning.

Senior starter Alex Radon (0-2, 8.78 ERA) is still in search of his first win after giving up three runs on six hits in three innings of work.

Freshman Alec Schmenk (2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER) and sophomores Trevor Gast (0.1 IP, 1 R) and Cameron Palmer (0.2 IP, 3 H, 4 ER) combined to give up nine runs (seven earned) in the next three innings as UT fell behind 12-0 after six frames.

Following Grogg’s RBI, freshman Andrew Marra threw the final two innings and allowed one run while striking out three as the Buckeyes grabbed a 13-1 victory.

Toledo wraps up the Chanticleer Classic and its final game in South Carolina when it takes on Marist (3-4) at noon March 11. After beginning the season with an 18-game road streak, UT has five more games before its home opener on March 21.
