Bar 145 to host Put-in-Bay Invasion

Put-in-Bay Invasion was organized by co-owner Jeremy Fitzgerald, whose family owns Mr. Ed’s Bar and Grille on the island. The event is set for 2 p.m. March 3 to 2 a.m. Cost is $10.
The musical lineup includes Neon Black, an ’80s cover band; Killer Flamingos, a pop, rock and electronic band out of Detroit; Ray Fogg, a comedian who performs off-color solo acoustic tunes; and John Salamon, a piano player and singer. All the artists are popular regular performers on Put-in-Bay, Fitzgerald said.
The evening will also feature guest bartenders from Put-in-Bay bars, including Mr. Ed’s, the Round House Bar, The Boathouse Bar and Grill, The Fishbowl and Put-in-Bay Brewing Co.
Representatives from various Put-in-Bay businesses, including Mr. Ed’s, Frosty Bar, The Boathouse, The Boardwalk and The Fishbowl will also be on hand with giveaways, Fitzgerald said.
Named after the temperature of a perfectly cooked medium-rare burger, Bar 145 opened in May at 5305 Monroe St.
Fitzgerald said the eatery aims to bring Put-in-Bay’s party atmosphere to Toledo.
“Toledo is Put-in-Bay’s No. 1 audience. There’s more of a customer base for Put-in-Bay in Toledo than any other city,” Fitzgerald said. “I’m just trying to do something different. I hope people enjoy it and that it helps get people ready for the Put-in-Bay season.”
