The Rockets (19-8, 12-3 Mid-American Conference) enter the contest as at least the No. 3 seed in the MAC Tournament after clinching the spot and its two byes last week. Toledo still has an outside shot at the second seed and three byes, which would put the team directly into the semifinals, if top-seed Bowling Green falls at ninth place Kent State.

In their last matchup on Jan. 19, Ball State (9-19, 4-11 MAC) fell to the Rockets 63-48 at Savage Arena. The victory was Toledo’s second in a streak of 10 straight wins, which ultimately ended last week in a 54-33 loss at Eastern Michigan.

Toledo is 7-5 on the road this season. UT is led by sophomore point guard Andola Dortch, who has a team-high 13.1 points and 4.2 assists on the year. Senior guard Courtney Ingersoll (11.2 ppg) and junior center Yolanda Richardson (10.1 ppg) also are scoring in double-figures in 2012.

Ball State has struggled lately, losing five of its last six games. The Cardinals are 7-8 at home this season and are led by Jasmin Hitchens and Brittany Carter’s 8.9 and 8.7 points per game, respectively.

The Rockets lead the all-time series between the two schools 48-18, including a 20-11 edge in BSU’s Worthen Arena.
