Well it appears to me that just about all our elected officials become unapologetic ego-maniacs soon after being elected. They forget about serving the people and prefer to serve their friends and themselves. Does entitlement really change people this much? I am seeing more and more of this type of self-serving behavior out of not only politicians, but even some newspaper editors who hold sway over public opinion. I am content with being an unimportant small town hick.Watching y'all take pot shots at each other certainly is entertaining though!

This DON mess is just the tip of the iceberg as far as administration of the city is concerned.
Once the investigation is complete and the facts are known then and only then can we start pointing fingers.
I expect a complete and fair account of the investigation by The Free Press.

I am not a fan of either of the three mayors mentioned. They had varying degrees of success and they have all had their varying degrees of failure. What continues to bother me is the Editor in Chief of this paper. This piece doesn't address that two fine people lost their jobs, without so much as explanation why. Mike Bell's niece got preferential treatment for several contracts in the city, and yet Bell is concerned about cleaning up the housing department. No Miller would rather pretend that Carty Finkbeiner is pure evil and Jack Ford is his toadie. Miller, when he's not busy taking all the credit for a charity CD, is holed up in his office figuring out more new creative ways to hurl stones at the Blade under the guise that his paper is far superior. Miller needs to grow up and focus on making his paper better as opposed to how the one down the street is performing. What's even more ironic is Miller professes such a deep love for this city and to prove that he decided to make his home in Michigan. What has Miller ever done for our fair city? Instead of investigating the circumstances surrounding the situation, like a journalist would do, it's easier to pass judgment on the people involved because Bell and Tom Pounds are golf buddies. If the Free Press ever wants to actually be considered a source for news, Miller needs to actually do some journalism as opposed to hurling insults at others.
