As of 11:17 p.m., 61 percent of Ohio voters were against Issue 2, limiting collective-bargaining rights, and 39 percent of the votes counted were for Issue 2. Thirty-eight percent voted for Issue 1, increasing the maximum age of appointments/elections of judges from 70 to 75, and 62 percent voted against it. Sixty-six percent of voters are for Issue 3, an amendment largely seen as an effort against Obama’s health care plan, while 34 percent are against it.
“In what is thought to be the first election in the country on collective bargaining rights, Issue 2 was soundly defeated by Ohio voters,” said a press release issued by We Are Ohio. “Today’s vote shows middle class Ohioans wanted to send a clear and emphatic message to our leaders and our nation that Ohioans don’t turn our backs on the people who watch ours.”
In the race for Judge positions on the Toledo Municipal Court, C. Allen McConnell leads with 35,601 votes over Joshua Lanzinger with 20,212 votes as of 11:02 p.m. Robert Christiansen is ahead with 28,464 over John Coble with 20,404. Michelle Wagner has 32,198, while Mark Davis follows with 15,638 and David Toska has 8,342.
As of 11:02 p.m. with 86 percent of precincts reporting, Tyrone Riley leads in the D1 City Council race with 4,773 votes while Aji Green has 3,794. In D2, D. Michael Collins is far ahead with 8,251 while Jeremy Demagall has 2,822. In D3, Mike Craig is ahead with 3,432 and Shaun Enright has 2,782. In D4, Paula Hicks-Hudson has 4,649 and Anita Rios has 1,888. In D5, Tom Waniewski has 7,832 votes and Jim Martin has 4,340. In D6, Lindsay Webb leads with 7,484 votes while Douglas DeCamp has 3,331.
As of 10:54 p.m. with 80 percent of precincts reporting, 65,365 voted for Issue 15, the renewal tax levy for 911 services, while 31,882 voted against it. On Issue 16, the renewal tax levy for Lucas County Children Services, 65,321 voted to renew it and 32,108 voted against the levy. On Issue 17, the renewal tax levy for the Toledo Zoo, 69,753 voted for it and 29,138 voted against the levy.
As of 10:26 p.m., Tyrone Riley is ahead in the D1 City Council race with 3,539 votes while Aji Green has 2,612. In D2, D. Michael Collins leads with 5,352 while Jeremy Demagall has 1,760. In D3, Mike Craig is ahead with 2,418 and Shaun Enright has 1,895. In D4, Paula Hicks-Hudson has 3,540 and Anita Rios has 1,409. In D5, Tom Waniewski has 4,770 votes and Jim Martin has 2,643. In D6, Lindsay Webb has 5,207 votes while Douglas DeCamp has 2,272.
In the race for Judge positions on the Toledo Municipal Court, C. Allen McConnell has 24,446 over Joshua Lanzinger with 13,107 votes as of 10:26 p.m. Robert Christiansen leads with 18,949 over John Coble with 13,807. Michelle Wagner has 21,656, while Mark Davis trails with 10,296 and David Toska has 5,433. Fifty-eight percent of precincts are reporting.
As of 10:06 p.m., 38,866 voted for Issue 15, the renewal tax levy for 911 services, while 18,504 voted against it. On Issue 16, the renewal tax levy for Lucas County Children Services, 38,724 voted to renew it and 18,757 voted against the levy.
“We’re obviously pretty happy about it, that’s a significant amount of the voters in our community saying we support the cause,” said Dean Sparks, executive director of Children Services. ”It’s (the vote) about this community’s concern about the kids and we appreciate the community’s concern for the kids. We’re so blessed to be in a community that cares so much about its kids.”
On Issue 17, the renewal tax levy for the Toledo Zoo, 40,692 voted for it and 17,560 voted against the levy.
“We are feeling pretty optimistic and just really, really thankful and really appreciative of the support of Lucas Country voters,” said Anne Baker, executive director at Toledo Zoo. “We had a tremendous group of volunteers and they just worked long and hard. We were just everywhere we could be and it paid off.”
As of 9:47 p.m., Tyrone Riley is ahead in the D1 City Council race with 2,932 votes while Aji Green has 2,103. In D2, D. Michael Collins leads with 3,175 while Jeremy Demagall has 947. In D3, Mike Craig is ahead with 1,679 and Shaun Enright has 1,307. In D4, Paula Hicks-Hudson has 2,494 and Anita Rios has 929. In D5, Tom Waniewski has 2,620 votes and Jim Martin has 1,618. In D6, Lindsay Webb has 3,591 votes while Douglas DeCamp has 1,532.
In Lucas County, 25,338 have voted “no” on Issue 1 to increase the age limits for judges’ appointments/elections and 16,105 voted “yes.” On Issue 2, 12,855 voted “yes” to uphold Senate Bill 5, limiting collective-bargaining rights, and 31,118 voted “no” to strike it down. On Issue 3 to “preserve the freedom of Ohioans to choose their health care,” 22,709 voted “yes” and 19,865 voted “no.”
As of 9:17 p.m., 63 percent (646,968 votes) of Ohio voters were against Issue 2, limiting collective-bargaining rights, and 37 percent (380,842 votes) of the votes counted were for Issue 2. Thirty-eight percent (369,960) voted in favor of Issue 1, increasing the maximum age of appointments/elections of judges from 70 to 75, and 62 percent (602,822) voted against it. Sixty-six percent of voters (654,208) are for Issue 3, an amendment largely seen as an effort against Obama’s health care plan, while 34 percent (344,272) are against it.
In the race for Judge positions on the Toledo Municipal Court, C. Allen McConnell has 7,682 over Joshua Lanzinger with 3,794 votes so far. Robert Christiansen leads with 5,720 over John Coble with 4,333. Michelle Wagner has 6,870, while Mark Davis trails with 2,880 and David Toska has 1,301.
As of 8:57 p.m., 11,581 voted for Issue 15, the renewal tax levy for 911 services, while 5,032 voted against it. On Issue 16, the renewal tax levy for Lucas County Children Services, 11,517 voted to renew it and 5,106 voted against the levy. On Issue 17, the renewal tax levy for the Toledo Zoo, 11,392 voted for the renewal and 5,320 voted against it.
In Lucas County and statewide, Issue 3, to “preserve the freedom of Ohioans to choose their health care” is a tight race. 8,146 voted “yes” and 8,303 voted “no” in Lucas County so far. 6,197 have voted “yes” on Issue 1 to increase the age limits for judges and 9,765 voted “no.” On Issue 2, 3,975 voted “yes” to uphold Senate Bill 5, limiting collective-bargaining rights, and 12,921 voted “no” to strike it down.
As of 8:57 p.m., Tyrone Riley leads the D1 City Council race with 1,122 votes while Aji Green has 912. In D2, D. Michael Collins has 1,741 while Jeremy Demagall has 447. In D3, Mike Craig is ahead with 478 and Shaun Enright has 397. In D4, Paula Hicks-Hudson has 1,297 and Anita Rios has 377. In D5, Tom Waniewski has 1,597 votes and Jim Martin has 1,053. In D6, Lindsay Webb has 1,445 votes while Douglas DeCamp has 528.
In the race for a spot as Judge on the Toledo Municipal Court, Joshua Lanzinger has 3,274 votes so far and C. Allen McConnell has 7,094. Robert Christiansen leads with 5,066 over John Coble with 4,022. Michelle Wagner has 6,313, while Mark Davis has 2,542 and David Toska has 1,069.
As of 7:43 p.m., 9,964 voted for Issue 15, the renewal tax levy for 911 services, while 4,295 voted against it. On Issue 16, the renewal tax levy for Lucas County Children Services, 9,931 voted to renew it and 4,340 voted against the levy. On Issue 17, the renewal tax levy for the Toledo Zoo, 9,778 voted for it and 4,565 voted to strike it down.
In Lucas County, 5,308 have voted “yes” on Issue 1 to increase the age limits for judges and 8,397 voted “no.” On Issue 2, 3,213 voted “yes” to uphold Senate Bill 5, limiting collective-bargaining rights, and 11,267 voted “no” to strike it down. On Issue 3, widely seen as an effort against Obama’s health care plan, 6,792 voted “yes” to “preserve the freedom of Ohioans to choose their health care” and 7,325 voted “no.”
As of 7:43 p.m., Tyrone Riley leads the D1 City Council race with 1122 votes while Aji Green has 912. In D2, D. Michael Collins has 1741 while Jeremy Demagall has 447. In D3, Mike Craig is ahead with 478 and Shaun Enright has 397. In D4, Paula Hicks-Hudson has 1297 and Anita Rios has 377. In D5, Tom Waniewski has 1094 votes and Jim Martin has 759. In D6, Lindsay Webb has 1191 votes while Douglas DeCamp has 395.
