I was just charged a late of $50.00 because UT does not know how to keep up with their paper work in the financial aid department due to an increase in enrollment for summer classes. When I called on May 16th the start of my summer classes I was told they were still processing financial aid from April and had no idea when they would get to May. about 10 days later I have a $50.00 late fee attached to my account. Please keep in mind that I have checked my account daily to see accept aid and more than once a day. Unfortunately I can not check my account every hour due to sleep, a family, and attending classes.
Apparently the problem is so bad that when you call rocket solutions they tell you just to send them an email and that they will review your account in 24-48 hours.
What a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on guys. Cut the nasty comments about cancer research and people not caring. When employees are losing their jobs, it’s only natural to comment and shake heads while watching money being spent on and off campus by administrators. What happened to holding on to loyal employees who have spent years supporting UT and the students. I was raised during the time when employees and companies were loyal and proud of each other. It’s a shame that someone can be tossed out of their job after being dedicated to the University for so many years. Too many people being let go have many years of devotion to discard them the way they are. They should be able to retire and be proud of where they spent their lives. It’s demeaning and shameful what is happening at the Univ. The administration is not helping the reputation of our school. Why not go for the positive approach?

I know, I know. If you think the bow tie purchase was a poor use of university resources, then you hate cancer patients and want them all to die. There is no middle ground; I am guilty as charged.

Dr. Sherry is an Associate NOT Assistant Professor. The University has not proven that these were indeed bow ties for charity. The receipts could be for anything from that store INCLUDING some very spiffy suits! What they say and what they can proove are two very different things!

Hi Jack,

I bought one of those bow ties for the men’s game versus BG. The charity effort paid for itself plus we raised thousands for cancer research at UTMC. Be careful when your distaste for someone (Jacobs) puts you on the wrong side of cancer research just so you can maintain a consistent and constant criticism.

Just thought you’d want to know as I know you’d not want to make a weak argument due to incomplete and distorted information.

Thank you, Free Press, for covering this. It’s informative to know that UT administrators spent $540 on bow ties while they were drafting layoff notices.
