Marina District sale legislation on holdWritten by Lisa Renee Ward | | email@example.com
Mayor Michael Bell sent a memo to members of Toledo City Council April 15 stating:
“Dashing Pacific Group has advised the City that they are reassessing their interest in purchasing the 69 acres in the Marina District. Therefore, I am requesting that Council cancel the Economic Development Committee hearing scheduled for Tuesday, April 19th, and refer the Ordinance authorizing a sale agreement back to the Administration at the April 19th Council meeting.”
The exact reasoning as to why Dashing Pacific is reassessing their interest has not been publicly stated. Several members of Council had discussed possible conditions they would like to see placed on the sale at the April 12 Agenda Review meeting that included changing the terms of the reverter clause, as well as language that would define the public access to the riverfront.
