One minute after polls closed in Ohio, Associated Press (AP) called the results for the Ohio Senate race between Lee Fisher and Rob Portman, declaring Portman the winner.

Fisher’s campaign when contacted for a comment was not aware that AP had called the race,  a spokesperson said they would have a comment later in the evening.

Portman previously served as a member of the US House, representing District 2 from 1993 until 2005, leaving elected office to serve as a U.S. Trade Representative until 2007.
