Delta will add a two daily flights from the Toledo Express Airport to Minneapolis, canceling its route to Detroit. The change will come on Nov. 1.
“We really do see it as an upgrade,” said Trebor Banstetter, a spokesman for Delta.
Carla Firestone, the airport’s director of communications, said many people prefer to drive to the Detroit airport.
The flights to Minneapolis will be on jet aircrafts instead of turboprop planes. Banstetter said this change will please many customers.
“It’s definitely an upgrade in the aircraft type,” Banstetter said.
She also said Minneapolis is an important hub for Delta. Banstetter said the airport has about 500 flights every day.
“It’s really a gateway to the west,” Firestone said.
