Power back in Monroe County; state of emergency still in effect

Power is back on in Monroe County, said John Austerberry, senior media relations representative for DTE Energy.

By 10:30 p.m. June 8, power was restored for all customers who could safely receive power, he said.

Some buildings are so damaged that turning on the power would be unsafe, he said.

“We can’t energize them until they get repairs,” he said.

The Village of Dundee is still in a state of emergency, and officials will re-asses the situation in the afternoon, said Dundee Chief of Police David Uhl at about 11 a.m. in a June 9 phone interview.
