Brilliant, let's tax the only thing downtown has going for it - entertainment. I understand solving a deficit issue is complex, but wouldn't taxing money-generating business be sort of like drilling a hole in you life boat?

Why do people even go to downtown Toledo? It's certainly not to work. If our elected "leaders" can't solve problems with out forcing US to pay more at every opportunity, then perhaps we should consider HIRING management.

OR, here's a good idea, Bell can sell his SWEET (read; unbelievably tacky, and I'm sure VERY expensive) Harley. Do we really need a "Weekend Biker" sinking the city's entertainment industry to bring in roughly 5% of what it will take to fill the financial hole?

Ooooh, another brilliant idea! How about a Harley tax? People go out and ride when it's nice out, we could tax their gas, their insurance premiums, and make them buy special permits to own and or ride a bike w/in city limits! That would go over VERY well, and I'm sure it'd be bound to generate some income!

Tax, tax, tax! Screw responsible spending, that's for 'conservatives'.

A tax I would whole heartily agree with , would be a tax on STUPIDITY !!
In that regard Toledo, would have so much money pouring in that, area Demonrats, could waste it on marina's, walk paths along the Swan Creek, flowers, non-profits org's /Dim cronies who do nothing, steam plant villa's/ condo's, Jeep plant, etc.
What ? The Demonrats have already wasted money on all of those stupid boondoggles !?
Hmm, what did we get in return ?
NOTHING ?!
WOWEE ! You Dim's are a profligate bunch of spending junkies , aren't you ?!

Does anybody know how much Toledo spends on Tarta annually? I see a lot of empty buses cruising around downtown. Cut things that don’t benefit everyone. Don’t add taxes especially to entertainment venues that people will more than likely stop going to with an increase in ticket prices. I know it is not Mayor Bell’s fault he has inherited a mess. But city administrators cannot think like Democrats anymore. Poor, overtaxed, underfunded, and debt ridden municipalities are generally run by Democrats wonder why? Democrats are for large governments that take large sums of money and funnel them into social programs. These communities also tend to be more lenient towards unions which allow your municipal workers to make entirely too much money for productivity. I would have to say if the city of Toledo was a business it would be filing bankruptcy because of poor business practices. CUT, CUT, CUT! Cut any programs related to social services. The majority of us have to deal with economic downturns on our own. Everyone should be held to this standard it is what is fair for everyone. Besides is it fair to tax those who are already strained financially? Cut taxes downsize government and you will see the market turn around in Toledo. This not a theory this if fact that has been proven for centuries.
