    Is this a poor joke?

  2. Yes, actually, it is. But who’s laughing?

  3. Kathy

It is a joke, and a poor joke at that. Go as far to say the stories written about those on the “hit list” were down right laughable. But no, they were not funny. They were meant to destroy the reputations of people that dared to care about their community. People that had neighbors and children and grandchildren and family. People that had to endure reading lies about themselves. The malignant cancer of this community is the daily newspaper. Where are the honorable people, leaders of the community when it comes to standing up to them, standing for right? They stay quiet or they appease in fear they will be the next on the list.

    You go Michael!!

    What Kathy said.

  5. JTeague

Unfortunatley, you’ll have to keep adding to this list… Who’s next?

  6. kateb

Kathy, you are absolutely right. But, sadly for them, as their circulation numbers prove – this isn’t working anymore. But on a brighter note – I have heard that a local daily is going to start in Toledo soon. A daily that’s seen the truck tricks etc. etc. ad nauseum.

It’s about time a big boy came to town.

  7. Jeff Jones

    You forgot Ray Kest!

Coach Bobby Nichols, was amoungst the first to be painted by Yellow journalism, the Blade / Pravda way !!! Those winning DAZE are long, long , gone…

  9. Kathy

    Kateb:
From your mouth to God’s ear! I hope the boy coming to town is both big and most of all, ETHICAL!
Sign me up first with this big boy’s paper and tell him I will go door to door to market for him, free of charge!

“Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus” and perhaps he’s comin’to Pottersville!

    “YMCA Executive Director Jody Alexander”
    ” YMCA President Robert Alexander”

“Cooper Suter, Mark Hertzfeld and Gary Batts have spent years paying for memberships at the South Toledo YMCA. Now, they’re about to spend hours with lawyers and pay for legal representation to protect it.”

Media to blame or the activists?

  11. Kathy

    Media.

    The activists have been had.

3 activists and 2 elected officials can’t support an entire Y location.

  12. NC

TFP contributed to the press coverage.

And now, we see that there is not enough community support for the location, and declining enrollment was the root cause.

“but with only 111 new members sold to date,”
