Thank you Toledo for supporting my re-election to City Council. It has been an honor to serve our community over these past three years and I look forward to working with mayor-elect Bell, Council, and the whole community to build a better Toledo. The difficult times we live in demand responsible, bipartisan leadership focused on the issues that matter to working families. I pledge to continue to work hard every day to live up to that obligation.

While serving as council president during the final days of the Carty Finkbeiner era has presented its own unique challenges, I am proud of what council has been able to accomplish.

We have taken action to promote job creation and neighborhood revitalization. And we have worked effectively to strengthen public safety and to reduce the city’s debt without raising taxes.

Looking forward, new leadership in city government presents us with the opportunity to forge a new consensus and to confront our city’s economic crisis with new confidence. I pledge to continue working to bring people together to take on the tough challenges. We owe it to all Toledoans to get city government’s fiscal house in order and to take every action within our power to get our local economy running again.

I thank you again for the opportunity to serve. Working together, we’re going to turn this community around.
