Huntington takes reins at Heidelberg

Robert Huntington assumed his new role as 14th president of Heidelberg University on July 1, taking over from Dominic Dottavio, who stepped down a year ago. James Troha was the university’s temporary president.

According to a news release, Huntington spoke at an event at the university welcoming him to his new position. He said he hopes to attract students from across the country to transform Heidelberg University into a nationally recognized university.

Huntington has been acquainting himself with faculty and staff. He previously worked at Lasell College in Newton, Mass. He graduated from Middlebury College with degrees in political science and German. He then obtained his master’s degree in German literature from Middlebury’s Germany program, his master’s in business administration from Dartmouth and a degree in high education administration from Harvard University.
