The Diocese of Toledo announced in a news release May 14 that William D. Sanford will serve as interim director of Catholic Charities, effective May 13.

As interim director, Sanford will work with Catholic Charities offices in Toledo, Fostoria, Fremont, Mansfield, Norwalk and Ottawa.

Sanford was president and CEO at COMPASS (Corporation for Recovery Services) in Toledo for 10 years before taking the interim director position.

According to Sanford, “I’m excited about the opportunity to work with the office of Catholic Charities. I’m impressed with the amount of programming Catholic Charities is responsible for in the 19 county area of northwest Ohio, and I look forward to working with those who come to us for assistance through our various programs.”
