“Ty” makes a good point in that locally elected democrats beyond just Carty have made Toledo the mess it is today. If uber-liberal Keith Wilkowski becomes mayor, Toledo will continue to sink into mediocrity and irrelevance. More of the same tax & spend democrat policies won’t change anything around here.

Marcy Kaptur is as much a national embarrassment as soon-to-be ex-mayor Carty. Kaptur compared the 9/11 terrorists to America’s Founding Fathers, [paraphrasing here] saying that one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.

Toledo can certainly do better than Carty & Marcy…but until the average, apathetic, American Idol-watching Joe & Joan Sixpack votes these hacks out of office, Toledo is going to get exactly what it deserves.

My reply is, anyone who doesn’t believe Finkwhiner is woefully inept,corrupt ,and stupid, is a dreaming Lilliputian!! The point is , not one buffoon Demonrat is to blame, especially , this one.Kapturd, has poisoned this area to a toxic level unseen since the Exxon Valdez spill ! And this ghost of a pol skates by with hardly a mention ,EVER !! This zero has been is office longer and has done EVEN less than the current crop of nitwits have !!Kapturd, and her brother are multi-millionaires and haven’t done a THING positive for this area since 1982 !!! So, kill the wounded creature and allow the worst creature to go unnoticed…hmmm…seems like journalistic idiocy to me.

Dear “Ty”,

Thank you for your thoughts, particularly those relating to Mayor Finkbeiner’s frequent mention in my columns.

I can honestly say I do not enjoy pointing out the mayor’s foibles on such a regular basis. As I turn topics for my next column in my head, I genuinely seek out “new content” on subjects I’ve not addressed before. In fact, the April 10 column began as three totally different subjects.

However, as a columnist in the Toledo Free Press, I have a responsibility to put in perspective the root of Toledo’s troubles. Invariably, in the two-week cycle between my columns, the mayor exhibits behavior endemic to Toledo’s ongoing problems. Therefore, to not address them would be a glaring ommission of what is, to a trained observer, obvious. Not addressing these issues would be akin to the “head in the sand” syndrome that has plagued Toledo news media for way too long.

To a voracious news consumer such as yourself, it might appear as Chronic Carty Bashing. But for the more casual observer, it is an updated reminder – a perspective that allows the reader to begin to recognize the pattern of behavior. Hopefully, the reader will at some point make the mental leap and “Connect the Dots”.

YEAH , YEAH, YEAH , YEAH, one man is to blame for this areas woes??? LAUGHABLE in the extreme. Where’s your admonishment of Kapturd and other business hating zeroes on the far left?? She’s a ghost of a pol here and in Congress and has been in politics longer and has done less than even Finkwhiner, for this area !!!! Jumping up and down on one CLOWN is OVERKILL…and it’s a joke !!This sounds like nothing more than a petulant ganging up on a pathetic creature already wounded by it’s own foolishness.Witch-hunts are alive and kicking in the rectal orifice of the body politique called Toledo and it ain’t ROSY at all!
