Brassieres on display for breast cancer awareness
Written by Julie Ryan | | news@toledofreepress.comMembers of the community are invited to decorate bras for a window-front display at The Town Center at Levis Commons to raise awareness for breast cancer and in preparation for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on May 9.
Casey Pogan, marketing director for The Town Center, said bras can be submitted until May 1. They must be decorated and titled — creatively, she said. There are 15 to 20 bras on display, one of which is decorated with oranges and titled “Squeeze Me.”
Pogan said they hope to receive 50 bra submissions.
“We’d love to meet that goal, and there’s plenty of room in the window front,” she said.
A People’s Choice Award will take place at the walk, and people can pay to vote for their favorite decorated bra and raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The winner will receive a “Booby Prize” — a Levis Commons package.
