Great article Bruce! I think maybe its time for you to run for mayor. If anyone knows its me on your passion, drive and love for this city. If anyone CAN change Downtown its you. Keep up the good work, and I am proud to say I know you and have earned great success because of your advise and business wisdom.

While I enjoyed the article and several points that came out of it, there is still one main issue that needs to be addressed? Why would businesses relocate to downtown when there is an obvious disconnect between the elected officials of Toledo and the current business leaders. It seems to me that they are interdependent upon each other.

Great editorial, this was spot on!

Nobody that has any stake in Toledo and the area (i.e., anyone who lives here) should ever, EVER hang there head or sound apologetic when they tell someone where they're from. That attitude has brought us down for far too long. When most of the people I know that are from Detroit tell someone where they are from, they say typically say it bubbling with pride, and Detroit is a heck of a lot worse off than we are. I was working up in the Detroit area for a summer, and someone I was working with commented on how nice Toledo was because we have neighborhoods you can actually walk around in and enjoy safely.

Let us please adopt a more positive attitude; if you're pissed about the state of the City, then tout what could be, as the author suggests, rather than hanging your head and accepting what is. Cities have risen and fallen and risen again throughout history, we aren't destined to fail. London was a complete sewer a few centuries ago, and look at it now?

Okay, I'm rambling. But great editorial.
