And read those crawls the local TV stations use every day. There are a lot of mispelled words and other mistakes in them. It's been that way for many years.

Braincramp.... you must be having one...

Kids = the reporters, producers, photographers, editors

Parents = the management not willing to pay for seasoned employees

It's called writing creatively, also known as; over your head.

You make some very good points, Mr. Harpen. But I just can't get past your fourth paragraph where you imply parents, if they could afford to do so, would hire a babysitter so they can enjoy church services in peace.

"Or maybe it’s unfair to blame the parents, because they just couldn’t afford a babysitter."

As a father of three, the thought never occurred to me to leave the kids home while my wife and I go to church. I've never heard anyone from the pulpit advise parents to leave their kids home on Sunday mornings. I think Christ had something to say about pesky kids, too.

But, maybe I am reading more into your statement than you intended. If so... sorry about that.

Glaring mistakes by local media types are not confined to television. An article written by a former mayor and college professor appears in an online version of a weekly newspaper. The op ed piece quoted an article you had written a couple of weeks ago about mistakes in city government; your name was mispelled twice.
