Emerald Woodberry, a senior at Central Catholic High School, earned a $200,000 scholarship to the University of Notre Dame through the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship Program.

The QuestBridge program awards scholarships to low-income students, Woodberry said.

Woodberry started working with QuestBridge in February of 2008 and applied for the scholarship in September. QuestBridge notified her Dec. 1 that she had received the scholarship, she said.

Woodberry is a Regents Scholar who is involved in student council, golf, African American club, gospel choir and the National Honor Society.
