In my opinion you must be able to keep your individual differences from the work environment. As an administrator in Human Resource management, you are hiring based on candidates that would fit into the values and standards of the organization. Ms. Dixon should not have been fired for expressing her feelings on the situation; however the company show and “openness to the homosexual, bisexual and transgender community”. She should have know that this was a part of the core values of the company.

I’m sorry,I was wrongfully discharged too. By Crystal Dixon herself.I was forced back to work, while on a medical leave. As head of the human resource department at a Lucas county position, she threaten to terminate me if I didn’t go back by a certain date. A long story made short, she is not allowed her personal feelings to influence the outcome of her job position responsibilities as head of a human resource. Oh by the way, I happened to be gay.

Ms. Dixon has the perfect right to be a bigot, and she has the perfect right to use religion as a basis for her bigotry.

What she *doesn’t* have the right to do is — private citizen or not — is be an administrator in *human resources* and openly admit her bigotry!

Free speech is NOT free — there are rights and responsibilities associated with it, and there’s no way in hell I’m going to apply for a job when I know the head of the HR Department is a bigot!
