I think it is absolutely wonderful that this woman was fired. As someone working in HR she should be held to a higher standard. Just because she has hired some people that are LGBT doesn’t give her a free pass, because who even knows if she knew they were LGBT at the time of hire. And after reading the article she wrote, she did mention her school so that gives the impression that she’s speaking for the school as well as her own personal beliefs. While I don’t agree with her beliefs or statements, I do believe she has a right to express them. This IS America. However, you have to be ready for any possible consequences that come along with what you choose to say. I also agree with part of another article I read saying that if she worked in a different department, the chemistry department for example, her statements would not be a factor. I applaud the university for setting the stage for diversity and sticking to their guns. Equality for all people!!!
