New Key Bank Branch
Written by Duane Ramsey | | news@toledofreepress.comKeyBank celebrated the grand opening of its newest branch in the Colonial Village on Heatherdowns in Toledo Nov. 17. The branch opened for business earlier this month in a former Huntington Bank facility.
The 5,000-square-foot branch has eight full-time employees and offers traditional retail banking, investment products and commercial, private and small business banking, according to Branch Manager David Rapien.
The branch features the latest technology to provide more timely service to its clients. It includes a 24-hour drive-up ATM with night deposit box and Saturday banking hours.
Consumers who visit the branch before Nov. 29 can register for a chance to win a chauffer-driven, $1,000 shopping spree, dinner for four and tickets to the Lights Before Christmas at The Toledo Zoo.
The Colonial Village branch is an additional branch for KeyBank, which now operates 16 branches in Toledo, 40 in Northwest Ohio and 32 in Southeast Michigan. The bank is following an industry trend with the opening of the new branch here and two more locations in Northeast Ohio.
KeyBank’s investment in its branch network reflects the continued importance of branches to consumers and businesses who seek a mix of channels for flexibility in conducting their banking business, said James Hoffman, president of KeyBank’s Northwest Ohio district.
Despite the growing popularity of online banking, the bank industry continues to operate more branches across the country. The total number of branches in the United States grew from 81,179 in 1995 to 94,669 in 2006, according to the American Bankers Association.
