“Voter intimidation? You decide … I did find it interesting that the one Black Panther member who did have the authority to be there claimed that he didn’t know anything about anyone having a night stick when he was standing right next to the guy earlier …

  1. I’ve also found what I believe is the original video from the University of PA student who had the first encounter with the Black Panthers:

There has also been some recent local media coverage on the Black Panthers with an interview of the head of the local Black Panthers group that makes it very clear he personally does not support Obama, calling him:

On Barack Obama and voting: “He’s a puppet on a string. I don’t support no black man running for white politics. I will not vote for who will be the next slavemaster.” Besides, he added, Obama is “a Negro who doesn’t even support reparations for black people in America.”

  2. CNN is reporting that Ohio is “too close to call” so it does not appear at this point they are going to make projections…

  3. Still no numbers from Lucas County…but some of the outlying counties are reporting.

  4. ABC has called Ohio for Obama as a projection at 9:27 p.m. The Ohio Secretary of State website currently has the votes:

    McCain – 49.56% 290,172
    Obama – 48.84% 285,951

  5. Over in the Ohio Senate District 2 Race – an upset could be in the making – Jackie Brown is ahead of Mark Wagoner with 77% of the votes in.

  6. Wood County is reporting in – Mark Wagoner has a huge lead so it appears he will retain his Senate seat.

It’s a NEW DAY in AMERICA – TODAY! I just arrived home from a wonderful day working at the polls. We arrived at 5:15 this morning and by 5:30 there were dozens of voters waiting for us to open at 6:30. Our final count tonight (for 3 precincts) in our location was about 1398 people voting.
BUT………….(drum roll)…….. we hit an all time high of 81% voting in our location. It was amazing to see the numbers of people who came out to vote. young, old, and everything in between. I have been at this location since 1964 and we have NEVER seen anything like this. The people were excited, warm and friendly. The workers are exhausted after working Monday night and over 15 hours on Tuesday, but we were all glad to have seen this wonderful turnout. WAY TO GO VOTERS!

I don’t know what your political leanings are but I think this is the most important election of my lifetime and I believe that the candidate I have selected will do the best job he can do with the mess he will be walking into. It is my hope that this country will come out of the financial situation we are in and we will be respected by the entire world again. And most important bring our troops home as quickly as possible

Our new President will need all of our prayers in the months ahead.

  8. Prayers indeed.

And perhaps a display of non-partisan cooperation will help too.

Maybe the democrats can show us how that’s done…
