Due to a recent serious injury, social critic Gore Vidal has canceled his scheduled appearance in Toledo Oct. 16 as the featured speaker for the fall 2008 Authors! Authors! series at the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library.

According to a news release, for refunds, below are the following options for advance ticketholders:

• Advance ticketholders may use their Gore Vidal ticket to attend another 2008-2009 Authors! Authors! series program.
• Advance ticketholders must bring their tickets to a Toledo-Lucas County Public Library branch location to fill out a refund form.
• The Library’s Finance department will then expedite refunds by mail to all who purchased an advance ticket.  Ticketholders will receive a Library check refund to their address.
• There will be no cash refunds.
