Measurements in business similar to health care
Written by Aya Khalil | | news@toledofreepress.comKrueger, CEO of Kenakore Solutions, is also on the ProMedica Continuing Care Services Board and is the chairwoman on the ProMedica Quality committee. Quality in business and health care is something she said she values.
“We have got to be able to make business decisions off data and the data that drives the company,” she said.
Kenakore, a warehouse and service logistic provider, has been in business for 11 years. It’s located in Perrysburg and Van Wert, but has customers worldwide and ship globally.
“It’s a high level warehousing for global manufacturers,” Krueger said. “We do product configuration, labeling, packing… and perform order fulfillment on behalf of the customers to the market place.”
Krueger said measurements are crucial to success in the business and health care areas.
“We spent a lot of time in 11 years making sure we measure ourselves to different metrics in business,” she said. “We think that’s what led us to our success.”
She said one of their areas of excellences is measuring their prophecies.
Working in ProMedica Health System and Kenakore Solutions, Krueger said they have the same processes that need to be measured.
“You have, in each of those organizations, processes in your business you need to measure,” she said. “Those measurements tell you how well you’re doing in those processes. To the health care industry, the cost pressures that face any health care systems make it imperative that health care systems are looking at internal process … ProMedica does a very good job of this. Metrics and measurements are appropriate to healthcare because they’re life altering outcomes.”
She said that’s the same with Kenakore Solutions.
“We have a high level of importance on that [measurements],” she said.
Krueger said they measure themselves and find their businesses improvement through the metric results in “good patient outcomes and good quality organizations.”
Larry C. Peterson, one of Kenakore Solution’s directors, said data gathering and quality processing are important for improvement on the hospital level.
“You’ll see significant improvements to ways things are done in commercial marketplace and health care,” Peterson said.
The commitment to measuring themselves is important in organizations, she said.
“I like to bring that with quality initiative with ProMedica. We self self-monitor ourselves by setting up metrics and goals that deliver good quality care. It couldn’t hit more on center with types of business we’re set up to succeed-business or healthcare industry.”
Krueger said it’s important for executives, like her, to participate in different boards in the communities to help business grow. She said they should lend any of their expertise in their business to other businesses and organizations. She stressed the importance of quality.
“Many different people within that system are working hard, and I’m impressed with the amount of people’s commitment to quality.”
