Let’s Play BallWritten by Lisa Renee Ward | | firstname.lastname@example.org
Joining in on the theme this week of baseball with the Mud Hens Opening Day Season edition, we head to the blogosphere looking for blogs with a baseball theme. The first one that caught my eye was Blue Collar Baseball. It’s a great blog to read about some of our local teams where the Deaner focuses on players and teams that play the game the "right way".
Tigers Den covers the Detroit Tigers but they are more than just the blog portion, they also have forums to discuss baseball in more depth. The focus is on the real team and on the fantasy baseball aspect which makes it a very popular blog year round for those who love America’s favorite past time.
From the color scheme to the amount of information provided, Bless You Boys is a recommended place to go for Detroit Tiger information. They even have links to some of the players who blog. This appears to be a scheduled stop on the D Train in the blogosphere…
A fun site that caught my attention was Mascot Stalker where I think they need to stop by Toledo for an updated picture of Muddy. The one they have is from 1998 and Muddy’s sporting a new look now.
Think we are the only team to be named the Mud Hens? Seattle seems to have their own Mudhens. They spell it as one word, and started playing in September 1993. An additional twist is they don’t play baseball, they are a Women’s rugby team.
Looking for a more in depth look at the sport? Then I recommend Baseball Analysists for a perspective by quite a few writers that includes a look “Around the minors” as part of their Lineup Card.
So, before you get ready to yell, “Play Ball!” there are plenty of blogs out there for you to get the latest news and enjoy some discussion.
When she’s not figuring out how to hide the thundersticks after the game is over, Lisa Renee can be found on Glass City Jungle. To share a blog with her that you’ve come across, email her at email@example.com.
