10. Oak Harbor family grows to 6 with birth of quads!
Shannon Hand of Oak Harbor, Ohio gave birth to quadruplets at St Charles Mercy Hospital in Oregon.
Her uteris must have looked like the back of an entertainment center!
9. Ben Konop gets into 3-car accident driving without insurance
Lucas County Commissioner Ben Konop was driving without auto insurance Monday when he was involved in a three-car accident that he caused.
He was cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance for the chain-reaction accident and could result in the suspension of his driver’s license for lack of insurance coverage.
I’ve got an idea if Ben loses his license – with the weather we’ve been having he could go to work by dog sled! Scout could even be the lead dog – I figure if Scout’s going to be at the office anyway you might as well put him to work!
8. Six students shot at Las Vegas school bus stop
Six young people were shot in Las Vegas after they stepped off a bus that had left a high school.
Police say the two gunmen are at large.
I don’t hold out much hope for them finding these guys.
Tupac Shakur was shot in the middle of the MGM Grand after a Mike Tyson fight and no one saw a thing!
7. Mike Vick sentenced
Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison for his role in a dogfighting conspiracy that involved gambling and killing pit bulls.
That’s 161 dog months!
6. CitiFest audit
An independent review of CitiFest concluded that there was no evidence in its books of misappropriation.
But it had $40,000.00 overdraft in its checking account!
They may have done nothing wrong but at the very least they should return the free toaster over the bank gave them for opening their checking account.
5. Mike Huckabee tops new Iowa poll/Hillary and Obama in a statistical tie in N.H.
Mike Huckabee surged to the top among Republican presidential candidates in South Carolina, While Senator Hillary Clinton‚s lead over Senator Barack Obama among Democrats narrowed since July in that state.
If Mike Huckabee, the former Governor of Arkansas, becomes president we will have to change the official song from "Hail to the Chief" to the theme from "Deliverance."
4. Toledo City Council will buy Dillard’s at Southwyck
Toledo City Council has approved a plan to buy the old Dillard’s store at Southwyck Mall.
I hope they end up doing something with that property.
It’s the only parking lot I’ve every seen that needs to be mowed!
3. The Mitchell Report released
Releasing a report that links some of baseball’s best to the use of performance-enhancing substances, former Senator George Mitchell said Thursday it is critical that Major League Baseball restore the integrity of the game.
The report was 409 pages! It was really 110 pages but it was on steroids!
2. Bob Latta defeats Robin Weiroch for 5th District Congressional Seat
Former Ohio congressman’s son elected to fill dad’s old seat.
Republican State Representative Bob Latta has been elected to fill the congressional seat in Northwest Ohio Left Vacant when Paul Gilmor died in September.
It reminds me of the time when Kenny Sieglar beat me to become class president of the 6th grade class at Golden Springs Elementary School – Darn you Kenny Sieglar!
1. Karyn McConnell-Hancock charged with falsifying a police report
Karyn McConnell-Hancock had been missing a couple of days when she turned up in Atlanta and told authorities she had been abducted.
But she later said she had driven herself to Georgia.
Toledo police have charged her with making a false police report.
At least four people have come forward claiming McConnell-Hancock cheated them out of tens of thousands of dollars.
For at least one day Michael Vick wasn’t the worst person in the state of Georgia!
