Toledo Free Press distribution changeWritten by Toledo Free Press Staff Writers | | firstname.lastname@example.org
Toledo Free Press will no longer be available for rack pickup at Toledo-area Kroger and The Andersons stores due to a cancelled agreement with DistribuTech, the sole distribution manager of free publication community rack programs at those businesses.
Toledo Free Press was notified via letter by general manager Lowell Baumker it will no longer deliver to retailers with racks managed by DistribuTech, effective immediately. Toledo Free Press Publisher and President Thomas F. Pounds said DistribuTech is reacting to an upcoming 150,000-copy Toledo Free Press apartment directory that will compete with DistribuTech’s reported 16,000-copy apartment guide.
Toledo Free Press publishes every weekend and is distributed to 135,000 single-family homes in Lucas County, northern Wood County and southern Monroe County. An additional 15,000 copies of the publication are available for rack pickup at such locations as Meijer stores, Toledo-Lucas County Public Libraries, Barney’s Convenience Mart gas stations, Ralphie’s restaurants, Big Boy restaurants, Mercy Health Partners hospitals and ProMedica Health System hospitals.
Pounds said the DistribuTech move does not involve Kroger and does not affect weekly delivery of the Kroger grocery insert.
Pounds said Toledo Free Press readers wishing to contact DistribuTech’s Baumker about the delivery change can call (419) 893-6865.
