Blog it, Toledo

Thanks to one of my good blogbuddies, Val I revisited and joined Blogher; the focus is on building a list of Women Bloggers. The types of blogs are as varied as the women themselves.  Here is a just a few:

Joanne Viskup, lives in Dayton, Ohio and is the author of  The Girl out of Brooklyn. Her recent raccoon adventure was a very entertaining post, and is a recommended read.  Joanne even tackles the topic of breasts with humor and style.

Once Burned, Twice Shy is not only a Blogher Blog but one I have visited before.  It is written by Vicki, who blogs about her life here in NW Ohio, her sons and technology as well as sharing photos. She also has a website that is the “technical side of ‘Once Burned, Twice Shy’”, Tekkababe.

While still on the topic of tech blogs, this post by Morra Aarons shares a new tech job posting board.  While most of the jobs appear to be on the West Coast, Crunchboard is still worth keeping an eye on.

While of course men blog about food too, Kalyn’s Kitchen is a very popular food blog.  Not only the material you will read there but the links to information and other food blogs makes this a highly recommended site to visit.  Kayln blogs from Salt Lake City, Utah.

One of the more popular “Mommy Blogs” out there is Suburban Turmoil, it’s not for the weak of heart as Lindsay Ferrier tells it like it is from Tennessee, with the end result being a deserving place high in the blogosphere.  I particularly enjoyed her recent blog post that mentioned her husband giving out her blog address to family members…

If fashion is what interests you, then The Adventures of an Urban Socialite is where you want to head.  I had never heard about “My Shape” before, but thanks to this blog?  Now I have, and there is more, much more for even those of us who are not quite “chic”.

Lest the guys feel left out, there are some “Bloghims” that participate as well, and you can easily spend hours at Blogher visiting the various blogrolls and reading the many categories of blogs.  Val has me dreaming about how cool it would be to go to the next Blogher Conference in 2007, with any luck one or both of us might just be there to Represent!

When she’s not out searching the blogosphere or getting information from friends and readers at glasscityjungle@gmail.com to focus on, Lisa Renee can be found on her blog, Glass City Jungle
