A spokeswoman for Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner confirmed April 3 that the city has released Pizzuti Solutions LLC of Columbus from the Marina District development.
Teresa Graven, acting public information officer for the mayor, said a letter was sent to Pizzuti stating the city was taking a different direction with the Marina District project after the firm failed to meet a March 31 deadline of securing a retail anchor for the development. Graven said the city is preparing to put out proposal requests in the coming weeks to local developers. She said Pizzuti will be welcome to submit proposals.
Whether Pizzuti will remain the consulting firm for a new sports arena hasn’t been determined, Graven said.
Comments from Pizzuti are being gathered.
